This film is about the dreams, and aspirations of an Iranian engineer going back home for 5 years to build a private museum of watchmaking, and opto-mechanics. The extreme closeups for watchmaking scenes are shot with a 1:1 macro lens, and specially made camera platform. Over 100 children visited OMiD museum on daily basis, and listening to their interpretations of what they saw at the museum was both fun, and a learning experience for me. OMiD displayed its collection for a year at watch museum, six months at museum of cinema, and another 4 years at Pardis park in Tehran.
This film shows the making of a skeleton watch under a stereo microscope, and Farsi calligraphy on the watch dial. Watchmaking as an art takes years to achieve. Several watches, and clocks were built, and restored at the museum. Some of the works were covered in museum's quarterly magazine.
