Grandfather's Rug

My grandfather, Hasan Moini, was a Persian rug designer, and I started making a film about him but after visiting my hometown in city of Kashan, I was overwhelmed with how much effort people in this industry were making to keep the semi bankrupt hand made Persian industry alive. In my childhood, while going to school in Kashan, I visited my older brother's rug store every day. So I grew up with rug making. What I didn't know was how much work went into making them. This film is not only about rugs but also reflects my own childhood memories in my hometown. I used to visit my grandfather's design studio while I was only 9-10 years old, and I remembered how busy it was back then, and how slow it had become during my revisit.
