Paul Ware, A Life in Patents

Paul Ware was my first patent lawyer, and the last one. His last position was the head of patent, and trademark office at California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. We developed a friendship, and I learned how to write patents from this very humble man, and his Hispanic friend Mel Gonzales. Mel taught me how to make patent drawings. Paul was classmate of Martin Luther King during his youth, and he recalled they'd call him: "ML". He often talked to me about civil liberties, and I enjoyed my many phone conversations with him. He told me about Alex Haley, and his famous novel: "Roots", This movie was shot during the last days of his life while he was still on bed in his Lakewood residence in California.
